"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I’ve been using this for longer tours where I need a bit more space, and it carries really well. The organization makes a difference, especially having quick access to avy tools and layers without unpacking everything.""Longer days in the backcountry demand more gear and better organization, and the Black Diamond Helio 30L Backpack is built to handle that added load without slowing us down. Whether we’re heading out for a full-day tour or tackling more technical terrain, it keeps everything accessible and balanced on the move. A dedicated avy tool compartment separates shovel and probe for faster access, while the main compartment opens with a zip-top and additional access points to keep gear within reach. The snow-shedding back panel reduces buildup and improves comfort against the body, and the padded waist belt with pockets keeps essentials close. Multiple carry options—including A-frame ski carry, diagonal carry, snowboard carry, and dual piolet attachments—allow the pack to adapt to changing objectives and terrain."
