Buff Midweight Merino Hinged Balaclava Xel Whisper, One Size

"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I wore this on a backcountry tour where the wind kept picking up above treeline, and the hinged mask meant I could drop it for the climb and flip it back up the second the wind hit on the ridge. The ponytail opening was a small detail that made a bigger difference than I expected.""Full face coverage usually means fighting with a mask every time conditions change, and the BUFF Midweight Merino Hinged Balaclava solves that with one simple hinge. We think of a skin track that turns windy above treeline, a mask flipped down for easy breathing on the climb, then flipped back up the second the ridge exposes bare skin to the cold. Merino wool delivers natural insulation and temperature regulation without the bulk of synthetic layers, staying warm even when it's damp from exertion. Flatlock seams keep things comfortable against the skin through hours of movement, while a functional ponytail opening and easy mask removal design mean this balaclava adapts to the day instead of fighting it."
