"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I've used this on rolling terrain and sidehills, and it's genuinely confidence inspiring. The patterned base grips reliably without skins on most climbs, and those steel edges make all the difference the moment things get steeper.""Groomed tracks are a fine place to start, but the Fischer Outback 68 Xtralite Touring Ski Package w/ Poles is built for the moment you decide to leave them behind. Head into forests, fields, and rolling backcountry terrain where the snow stops being predictable, and let a patterned waxless base handle the climbing while full steel edges take over on the way back down. An Air Tec wood core keeps things light without sacrificing the strength needed for mixed, changing conditions, and XC double camber balances traction against glide so the ski neither drags nor skitters underfoot. The BCX Tour boot backs it up with a tall, hiking style cuff for real ankle support and D-rings ready for gaiters when the snow gets deep, while the Offtrack poles bring an aluminum shaft built to handle whatever bumps and unpredictability come with skiing off the beaten path."
