"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I carried the Bergtagen Down Jacket on a high camp for an alpine climb, and it packed down small enough to disappear in my summit pack, then kept me warm the moment the sun dropped. The reinforced shoulders held up fine under a loaded pack all week.""Extra warmth only matters if it's there the moment you need it, and the Bergtagen Down Jacket from Fjällräven is built to be exactly that reserve. Picture reaching high camp as the temperature drops fast, pulling this out of the pack, and feeling the cold recede almost immediately. Ethically sourced 800 fill power down keeps the warmth-to-weight ratio high while stitch-through baffles hold packability tight, and PrimaLoft padding reinforces the shoulders where a pack strap presses hardest. A helmet-compatible storm hood and a two-way front zipper with an inside protective flap round out a jacket built for real alpine use, and details like a packback made from the main fabric mean it's designed to be repaired for years, not replaced after one season."
