"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I wore the Glacier Down Jacket on a winter hike where the snow turned to a wet mix halfway through, and the hydrophobic down kept its loft the entire time instead of collapsing like standard down would. Having PrimaLoft at the shoulders meant my pack straps never created a cold, compressed spot.""Deep winter hiking asks for warmth that doesn't quit the moment moisture shows up, and the Glacier Down Jacket from Helly Hansen delivers exactly that for the trail that pushes into the coldest, wettest stretches of the season. It's built for the hiker who needs the insulation to perform, not just look the part. Hydrophobic down fills the body and keeps its loft even when conditions turn wet, while PrimaLoft Black Rise takes over at the shoulders so a pack's straps never flatten the insulation into a cold spot. A 2-way front zipper allows quick venting or easy access with a harness, an adjustable hood locks out wind and snow, and zippered hand pockets lined in soft fleece keep hands warm through the coldest stretch of trail."
