"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I use these for shoulder-season climbing when conditions are mixed and movement matters. They stretch easily for high steps, sit comfortably under a harness, and shrug off rock abuse better than lighter softshells. The articulation really stands out on steep terrain.""When shoulder-season objectives call for precision footwork and confident movement, we pull on the Ascendor Pant and tie in. Built by Rab for technical alpine climbing, these slim-fitting softshell pants deliver the balance of protection and mobility we need for mixed routes and variable conditions. The tough Matrix™ double weave fabric resists abrasion from rock while staying breathable and low bulk under a harness. Exceptional articulation and a long gusset allow unrestricted knee lift on steep pitches, while reinforced kicker patches protect against crampon strikes. Harness-compatible pockets keep essentials within reach, and adjustable hems dial in the fit with a range of boots. From cold approaches to technical leads, these pants earn their place in our shoulder-season kit."
