The SRAM Rival 22 11-speed Rear Derailleur may be a touch heavier than its Force and Red siblings, but it sacrifices nothing when it comes down to performance, dependability, or durability. Its competition-proven design ensures exacting shifting no matter what the conditions. SRAM's Exact Actuation technology is actually a hand-me-down from its mountain bike groupsets. It designates a 1:1 relationship between shifter cable travel and derailleur movement. This simple index shifting helps to simplify balancing derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and cable tension to ensure fast, efficient shifting. The derailleur moves through the entire range of shifting via a 3mm movement from gear to gear. The derailleur was constructed from aluminum inner and outer cages as well as b-knuckle. Although these are slightly heavier than the titanium hardware and carbon cages used in the Force and Red Groups, they retain structural integrity and ensure durability. The SRAM Rival 22 11-Speed Rear Derailleur is available in both a Short and Medium cage version. The Short cage has a maximum rear cog capacity of 28 teeth while the Medium is able to work with a 32t cog.
