We love what Sage did with it’s all-new Trout Fly Reel. By borrowing design elements from their iconic Sage 500 reel and incorporating their newest technologies, the Trout combines old-school aesthetics with modern performance. The fully machined construction with minimal porting in the spool gives the reel a heavier balance (similar to what you might expect from a click-and-pawl reel), but it still boasts a concave, large arbor to house additional yardage of backing and ensure rapid line retrieval. Further separating it from the click-and-pawl reels of yesteryear, Sage used its One Revolution SCS (Sealed Carbon System) drag system to help protect light tippets from trophy fish.
