Salomon Genesis 2 GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's Shadow Gray/Iron/Black, US 10.0/UK 8.5

"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""The Genesis 2 GTX Trail Running Shoe came out on a long alpine loop with me last fall when the weather turned halfway through, and the trails got properly ugly. The Contagrip outsole kept me dialed in on slick roots and wet granite, and at 9. 3 ounces it never once felt like the shoe was working against me on the climbs.""Some trails demand a shoe that simply won't quit. The Salomon Genesis 2 GTX Trail Running Shoe was engineered for exactly those days, the ones where the route gets technical, the weather shifts without warning, and you need every piece of your kit to pull its weight. Tipping the scales at just 9. 3 ounces, it moves with you rather than against you, covering ground efficiently whether you are climbing a sustained ridge or picking your way through a rocky descent. The GORE-TEX membrane builds a waterproof barrier into the shoe without adding bulk, keeping feet dry through stream crossings, wet grass, and hours of rain without trapping heat or stiffening the ride. The optiFOAM midsole absorbs impact and returns energy underfoot, holding its cushion mile after mile where lesser foams compress and fade. Between the midsole and the Contagrip All Purpose outsole, the ActiveChassis plate adds torsional stability that helps the foot track true on uneven ground, so energy goes into forward momentum rather than correcting for every root and rock. The Matryx upper wraps the foot with structure exactly where it counts and gives way everywhere else, making the Genesis 2 GTX a shoe worth trusting from the first step to the last."
