"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: ""I’ve worn the Quest 4 GTX Boot on multi-day treks, and the combination of ankle support, waterproof GORE-TEX, and the cushioned Ortholite liner kept my feet happy through long, rocky miles. It feels sturdy without being overly heavy, which makes it a reliable pick for serious backpacking.""When we’re loading up for backcountry routes or planning a weeklong trek, the Salomon Quest 4 GTX Boot is our go-to for dependable support. The brand’s proven GORE-TEX membrane keeps our feet dry when weather turns, while the boot’s advanced chassis blends trail-running agility with backpacking stability. That balance means we can power through steep switchbacks and rocky ridgelines with confidence. Durability is built into every step, with Contragrip rubber that bites into slick rock and rubber toe and heel caps to fend off sharp edges. An Ortholite liner with EVA heel cushioning adds comfort for long days under a heavy pack. Whether we’re crossing wet meadows or scrambling above treeline, this boot keeps us steady, dry, and ready for the next mile."
