"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I broke trail through knee-deep snow for three hours in the Summit Pro Baselayer Tight, and the inseam gussets meant every high step felt unrestricted. By the time we hit the summit ridge, my legs were still dry, which made the wind up there a lot easier to deal with.""Legs do the real work on a winter approach, and the Summit Pro Baselayer Tight from The North Face is built around the miles they put in before the climbing even starts. Picture postholing up a drainage before sunrise, snow past your knees, a long ridge still ahead, needing a layer that won't bind or bunch with every high step. A darted front and back yoke shape the fit through the hips and thighs so nothing rides or twists under a hardshell, while inseam gussets open up the range of motion a steep kick step demands. DOTKNIT fabric keeps sweat moving away from the skin through the hardest stretch of the approach, and a brushed elastic waistband stays comfortable for the entire push from trailhead to summit and back."
